An Introvert’s Cry

when old uncles
and aunties come,
they fill my house
with floating words,
trivial words,
dusty words.

and i feel so uneasy.
i have to cough,
and i cough and cough.

hell! uncles and aunties
catch me and scald
my whole heart
with floating words,
trivial words,
dusty dusty words.

and i feel stifled,
i have to run,
and i run and run.

you skinny skinny
pinky girl,
when are you going to
be a woman
and feed a man?

their words echo
and dig holes in my heart
whenever i hear
a new ringing of bell

my grandma is old,
and she gets too many
visits, too many smiles,
and for me, too many wars.

i must tell you,
i must hide myself
in the darkness
of this basement.

i must tell you,
early mornings and
mid nights are
my only love.
